Botox Injections
A doctor-led injection treatment that softens expression lines on the face while keeping your look natural.
Botox explained
Botox is a medicine (botulinum toxin) that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for expression lines when you smile, frown or raise your brows. The doctor places very small amounts at carefully chosen points so the lines soften gradually. A session usually takes about 10 to 20 minutes. The areas treated and the amount used are decided for you individually at your consultation.

Results and recovery
Results
Results begin to appear gradually about 3 to 7 days after treatment and are usually fullest at around 2 weeks. The effect is temporary and typically lasts about 3 to 4 months, but this varies from person to person. Results cannot be guaranteed.
Recovery and side effects
You can return to normal daily activities straight away. Slight redness or small bumps at the injection points are possible and usually settle within a few hours to a day. For the first 4 hours or so, avoid rubbing the treated area, lying flat and strenuous exercise.
Possible side effects
In most people, side effects are mild and temporary.
- Pain, redness, swelling and bruising at the injection points
- Headache
- Drooping of an eyelid or eyebrow, or uneven expression — uncommon and temporary, usually settling within a few weeks
- Rarely, an allergic reaction. If you have difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking, or swelling of the face or throat, seek emergency care immediately.
Results vary from person to person.
